For Want of Sleep...

For want of a nail, the shoe was lost.
For want of the shoe, the horse was lost.
For want of the horse, the rider was lost.
For want of the rider, the message was lost.
For want of the message, the battle was lost.
For want of the battle, the war was lost.
All for want of a nail.

This profoundly struck me. Solve the little problems, the bigger problems will come in time. Woah.

4 AM? Chocolate Milk Time.

A few thoughts:

First of all, I love chocolate milk. Not simply for it's delicious taste, but for the sheer amount of fore-thought and money that must go into a single glass. When we are blissfully free of worry or monetary concern in our parent's homes, chocolate milk was just there, or it simply wasn't. When living on one's own, one must purchase the milk (carefully considering the amount, as milk is expensive and you wouldn't want it to go bad), and the chocolaty mix (assuming you will have the presence of thought to remember the next time you pour yourself a glass of [hopefully unspoiled] milk that you have said mix in your pantry/cupboard/stash). Similar to this? Fruit. Working full time and going to college full time with my own apartment, fruit didn't make sense. It's expensive and goes bad very quickly. When visiting home my Junior year I ate a banana for the first time since I went to college. Oh. My. God. The most delicious thing I had ever tasted.
